It was a Wednesday afternoon and they were not busy. We were seated immediately. The place is decorated nicely and was well lit. It was a little chilly, nothing a coat couldn't fix. There was outdoor seating available. The salsa was my least favorite, a bit peppery. Shrimp tacos had great taste, with handmade tortillas. Would have liked to have a better ratio of shrimp to tortilla. There were three shrimp for a very large tortilla. The star, to my surprise....the rice! First time at a Mexican restaurant I ate all the rice! I hear the place is very lively on Tuesday nights.
Found this place before catching a show at The Glass House. We happened to go the last day they were open (before moving to the new much bigger location). The wait was long, but the food was worth it. I got the "famous taquitos" (chicken tinga). I expected about 3 taquitos (which seems to be standard elsewhere). I was surprised when I opened the box to find 5. They did not skimp on the guac either. They were spicier than I anticipated but so good. They also have a decent amount of vegan options, and plenty of parking. If I found myself in the area again, I would definitely go back.
Absolutely delicious! I love coming here, as it is close to work, but more importantly, so yummy! I always get their piña agua fresca and their gorditas. Their salsas and tortillas are always fresh. The shop is rather small so it's hard to get a table inside. Outdoor seating is also limited. In summer it gets way too hot to sit out there. The service is always fast, as are their staff members friendly. I feel as if Luchador is quickly becoming a Pomona staple. You have my business!
Wow, I LOVED this spot! I know Pomona has plenty of Mexican spots, and I've definitely been to dozens of them, but this one is absolutely worth checking out. PARKING: Plenty of parking in downtown Pomona! SERVICE: The cashier was friendly and answered all my questions, but somehow, they lost my order and I waited quite awhile for my food. All of my friends received their food before me. I had to go back to the cashier and remind him about my order. He was really nice and apologetic. FOOD: Yum! I ordered three tacos: carne asada, carnitas, and pastor. I loved the carnitas and pastor. The asada was too dry for me though. The salsa that comes with the tacos is super spicy, so be warned! I have low tolerance for spice, so I only tried a little bit of it. My friend ordered the mole tots and I didn't love them. I wouldn't order that myself. DRINKS: Horchata was delicious! Overall, I'm definitely coming back and trying the rest of the menu!
A very fun place to go and eat. Very good burritos and lots of salsa choices. They can get very busy on the weekend.
